Pediatric Prosthetics

At Orthotic and Prosthetics Lab, our goal is to help your child grow and succeed with their new prosthesis. We want our patients to live with their utmost potential and not let their amputation hold them back. Our practitioners work with both the physical therapist and physician to ensure that the patient is getting the best care. As a patient, you can trust that we will provide you a device that best suits your needs and abilities. When your child, needs a prosthetic device, you want a specialist that not only has the clinical experience, but someone you know will communicate and connect with your child. Our practitioners promise to evaluate each child individually and create a unique treatment plan specific to each patient.

Pediatric Knees:

Total Knee Junior

Total Knee Junior gives young users security, natural motion and ease of walking. Easy to cover, Total Knee Junior offers up to 160 degrees of knee flexion. Total Knee Junior mimics the natural movement of children, who enjoy a broad range of versatile high level activities, such as walking, running, sitting, squatting, and kneeling.

MightyMite Knee

The MightyMite® Knee is a core component of the Fillauer and Hosmer MightyMite® Endoskeletal Line. The knee is designed to be rugged and tough enough for active pediatric amputees in a compact lightweight form, also ideal for geriatric population.

Pediatric Hydraulic Knee

The joint's hydraulic unit is equipped with a low viscosity oil well-suited for children's fittings. It supports smooth movements during the swing phase. Specifically designed for young users the knee not only offers a high stance phase stability, but also supports different walking speeds. With its low weight of only 510 g it grants children a great amount of freedom to move.

Pediatric Polycentric Knee

A rotation unit integrated in the lower joint section permits rotation of the prosthetic foot with automatic return upon load relief. Combined with the large flexion angle of approx. 165°, this enables a comfortable 'kneeling position' as well as crouching with the foot rotated to the outside.

Cheetah Junior

Cheetah Junior is a high performance carbon fiber foot designed for everyday use and sports. It offers the the flexibility of an everyday walking foot and a running foot in a single prosthesis, covering a wide range of use. Cheetah Xplore combines the proven performance of our Cheetah sprinting foot with a heel for everyday walking and standing.

Flex Foot Junior

The low profile, energy-storing foot module features a sandal toe and an integrated male pyramid. The shape of the pyramid adaptor contributes to progressive stiffening of the foot, and the carbon fiber layering technique is specifically designed to offer the support and flexibility needed for the varied movements of children.

Vari-Flex Junior

Vari-Flex Junior provides both comfort and dynamics. It is specially suited for children who require additional energy response. Vari-Flex Junior is lightweight, easy to assemble and has a slender profile, making it easy to cover. It inspires user confidence and security. It is designed for any activity.

Mini Blade XT

Designed to offer a complete solution, the Mini BladeXT offers outstanding stability, ground compliance and improved comfort through the split toe and traction sole, while its C-shaped toe spring is primed for optimal energy response.

Truper

The rugged Truper foot combines high energy with stability for active kids. The foot's flexible foreheel and bumpers store energy for a smooth, controlled transition from standing to running. Made to easily adjust for growing children, the Truper offers two size ranges that provide flexibility through adolescence.
